The National Baptist Church of Pakistan (NBCP) places great emphasis on the ongoing spiritual and theological development of its pastors, both in rural and urban contexts. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Christian leaders serving within an Islamic majority nation, NBCP offers regular training workshops to equip pastors with biblical knowledge, leadership skills, and culturally sensitive strategies for shepherding their congregations effectively. As Paul urged in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth,” NBCP upholds the need for continual preparation and faithfulness in ministry.

These in-person workshops are not just about academic learning—they are spaces for fellowship and mutual encouragement, where pastors and ministry leaders can share their experiences, struggles, and insights, building one another up for the common cause of Christ. The sessions often cover theology, church administration, ethical leadership, interfaith dialogue, and spiritual counseling, equipping participants to lead with wisdom, compassion, and courage.
To extend its reach and include those who cannot attend in person, NBCP also offers virtual training opportunities in collaboration with I-LAP-US, the international office of I-LAP-PAK. These online programs are designed for both ordained pastors and laymen, offering flexibility and access to rich theological content, pastoral care training, and leadership development resources. These sessions are especially helpful for leaders in remote or restricted areas, allowing them to grow in knowledge and ministry capacity without leaving their communities.
NBCP’s pastoral training initiative embodies the call of Ephesians 4:11-12, where it is written, “Christ himself gave… pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” Through these efforts, NBCP is raising leaders who are biblically grounded, spiritually strong, and missionally focused.
